Common Fault Maintenance Cases of Mud Pumps:

Table of Contents

Case One:

Fault Phenomenon: Insufficient flow of the mud pump

Fault Analysis:

  1. The suction pipeline is clogged or leaking.
  2. The impeller is worn or damaged.
  3. The rotational speed is too low.

Maintenance Measures:

  1. Clean the suction pipeline and repair the leaky parts.
  2. Replace the impeller.
  3. Inspect the motor and transmission device and adjust the rotational speed to the normal range.

Case Two:

Fault Phenomenon: Decreased pressure of the mud pump

Fault Analysis:

  1. Wear of sealing parts causes leakage.
  2. The outlet pipeline is clogged.
  3. There is air inside the pump.

Maintenance Measures:

  1. Replace the sealing parts.
  2. Clean the outlet pipeline.
  3. Remove the air inside the pump.

Case Three:

Fault Phenomenon: Abnormal vibration and noise of the mud pump

Fault Analysis:

  1. The pump shaft is bent.
  2. The impeller is unbalanced.
  3. The anchor bolts are loose.

Maintenance Measures:

  1. Correct or replace the pump shaft.
  2. Perform balance correction on the impeller.
  3. Tighten the anchor bolts.

Case Four:

Fault Phenomenon: Overheating of the mud pump bearings

Fault Analysis:

  1. Poor lubrication.
  2. The bearings are damaged.
  3. The pump shaft and the motor shaft are not concentric.

Maintenance Measures:

  1. Supplement or replace the lubricating oil.
  2. Replace the bearings.
  3. Adjust the concentricity of the pump shaft and the motor shaft.

Case Five:

Fault Phenomenon: Overload of the mud pump motor

Fault Analysis:

  1. The mud concentration is too high.
  2. The impeller rubs against the pump casing.
  3. The motor is faulty.

Maintenance Measures:

  1. Reduce the mud concentration.
  2. Adjust the clearance between the impeller and the pump casing.
  3. Inspect the motor and repair or replace the faulty components.
