Open the valve of the rig to tongs gas line.

Hydraulic power tongs are important and indispensable wellhead tools in drilling team construction. The performance, operation and maintenance of hydraulic power tongs directly affect the safety, timeliness and efficiency of drilling team construction. In the case of a large number of new drilling team personnel, the hydraulic power tongs operation and maintenance knowledge training should be strengthened, so that the operators can truly understand the principle, structure, use and performance, and can operate, maintain and troubleshoot to achieve intrinsic safety.

1.Open the valve of the rig to tongs gas line.

2.Start the oil pump and separate the unidirectional air valve to make the oil pump operate under no-load condition. The pressure of the system pressure gauge should not exceed 2.5Mpa.

3.After checking that the size of the jaw plate assembly is consistent with the size of the drill pipe joint, turn the two positioning handles on the head of the pliers to the corresponding position according to the upper buckle or shackle.

4.Control the two-way gas valve of the transfer cylinder to smoothly send the pliers to the wellhead. It is strictly forbidden to close the gas valve at one time, so that the pliers move quickly to the wellhead and cause impact. If the height of the pliers is not suitable for the “operable hydraulic lifting cylinder”, adjust it to the appropriate position.

5.After the pliers are sent to the wellhead and the drill pipe enters the tongs through the opening, observe whether the two plug screws under the tongs are fitted with the male and female joints, and then manipulate the clamping cylinder two-way air valve to make the lower clamp clamp the joints, and put the two-way air valve of the transfer cylinder to zero to discharge the gas.

6.According to the needs of the upper shackle, the high and low gear two-way air valve is turned to the corresponding position, and the gear can be changed without stopping in use.

7.The positive and negative rotation of the motor is achieved through the H-type manual reversing valve, and the handle position is changed according to the need of the upper shackle.

8.Reset: that is, the process of the pliers opening to align with each other. When completing a buckle or unloading a buckle, the H-type manual reversing valve must be operated to turn the clamp head in reverse to the working state. In the reset, according to the distance of each opening, the shift two-way air valve can be operated, and the method of high and low gear transformation is realized. The H-type manual reversing valve should be used as little as possible when the high level reset, and the two-way air valve should be skillfully used to reduce the inertial impact.

9.Do not lift the male buckle before it is completely pulled out from the female buckle to avoid slipping. When the upper pliers have not loosened the drill tool, it is not allowed to lift up, so as to avoid undue damage caused by the floating part of the pliers head or the drill tool falling.

10.Operate the clamping cylinder two-way valve to the opposite position of the working position, so that the lower clamp returns to zero alignment with the opening.

11.Operate the two-way valve of the transfer cylinder to smoothly remove the pliers from the wellhead.

12.If all the lifting or drilling is completed, all the liquid and air valves are reset to zero, turn the check valve to the closed position, and stop the pump. Close the inlet valve in the direction of the rig to cut off the air path.

13.When moving, the liquid pipe joint should be closed to prevent dirt from entering the liquid pipe road.

14.The position of the positioning handle of the upper and lower pliers depends on the requirements of the upper and lower fasteners. However, when changing the position, each opening of the pliers head must be operated directly behind, otherwise the reset mechanism will fail.
